About Me
Introduction
My name is Natasha La, I'm 15, and currently a sophomore at San Leandro High. I am Chinese and Filipino. My mom and dad immigrated to have a better life, my mom from Manila, and my dad as a refugee from Vietnam.
Early LifeI was born in Hayward and moved to San Leandro when I was 2. I went to James Madison Elementary and John Muir Middle. I am a member of Interact, Key Club, and am one of the Co-Presidents of PUSO (Philippine Union Student Organization) at school. I like to challenge myself by taking hard classes, and I am a year ahead in both science and math. I was in SLHS Business Academy where I studied entrepreneurship and how to build a business, but now switched to SLAM.

MusicI started piano and music theory at age 7 and became classically trained when I was 10. I joined 5th grade band and played the trumpet, but switched to flute in 6th grade. I played both flute and percussion throughout middle school and high school . I now play vibes and flute in Jazz Band and Synth/keyboards and flute for marching/pep band.

SportsI started playing volleyball in 8th grade as a middle blocker then switched my position to outside hitter during club season. I still play outside in high school and have been for the past two years. I was Team Captain this year. I love the volleyball team and community and met so many people through the sport. I currently am an assistant coach at St. Felicitas CYO and helped coach John Muir Middle School's volleyball team for the past two years. I have now since ended my volleyball career due to an injury and wrestle.
